- 91st Battalion marching east on Talbot Street, St. Thomas, ca. 1916. Possibly shows the start of the 91st Battalion's recruitment march east from St. Thomas to Port Burwell and back in February, 1916. View shows Talbot Street, St. Thomas, north side, looking west from Mondamin Street, with the Columbia Hotel in the background. Captain (later Major) A.E. Medcalf, officer commanding B Company of the 91st Battalion, is shown leading the contingent. Journal Building is also visible, with its original domed tower. The grounds of Holy Angels Church are partially visible at left. Likely from a Curtis family scrapbook. File includes:
