Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal: "Rev. Stanley M. Scott, of Kincardine, new Moderator of Hamilton-London Synod: 73rd Annual Session of Important Church Body Being Held in Knox Church; Retiring Moderator's Address; New Moderator Presents Gavel and Gets It Back." 2_1397: "Presents Gavel to Synod; Has It Handed Right Back to Him: Rev. Stanley M. Scott, B.A., of Kincardine, was elected moderator of the Presbyterian Synod of Hamilton and London at the 73rd annual meeting in Knox Church here Monday evening. In the above picture Mr. Scott is seen holding the gavel, which he had just presented to the Synod as a gift from the session of the Kincardine church, where the Synod met last year. Shortly after mr. Scott presented the gavel to the secretary, Rev. J. K. West, it was handed back to hom by Mr. West and at once put to use. In the picture above are shown, left to right: Rev. Harry S. Rodney, of Knox, the host church, St. Thomas; Rev. Mr. Scott; Rev. J. K. West, minister of Alma street church, St. Thomas, and secretary of the Synod; Rev.
