- Two black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 2, 1968 with captions:
- "Rams Guide Rail - The remote-controlled vehicle has just hurtled down a runway at 50 miles per hour and crashed into a three-cable guide rail at the Fingal airport. The car ripped out five posts, but the guide rail held it form travelling off the road. The department of highways, which is conducting safety tests at the airport, invited the communications media to view some tests yesterday. About 25 turned out". (5a)
- "Unsuccessful Test - There has to be one spoilsport in every group and this 50-foot sectional steel pole mounted on a break-away base was the culprit yesterday at a press showing of department of highway safety tests at the Fingal airport. The pole, which is supposed to fly up and allow the vehicle to pass safely under it before the pole falls to the group, didn't work the way it was expected to, and one of the sections landed on the roof".
