- Photographs of attendees viewing exhibits at the Aylmer Air School on National Air Force Day.
Captions from St. Thomas Times-Journal: "Vampire Jet Plane Thrills Crowd at Aylmer; School to Be Busy Place This Summer."
"National Air Force Day at Aylmer School."
1_2533: "One of the many attractions in the airmen's lounge, where personnel of the Aylmer Air Station displayed their handiwork in a hobby show at the National Air Force Day, Saturday, was the model house, built to one-eighth inch scale. Other exhibits included metal work, cabinet making, leather tooling, plastic work and toy making."
1_2534: "Anne Montgomery, 13-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Montgomery, Fairview avenue, Yarmouth Heights, was keenly interested in the fighting and training planes on exhibition at the Aylmer Air Station, Saturday, when National Air Force Day was observed. Anne very recently made her solo flight at the civic airport, Yarmouth Centre, and is believed to be the youngest girl pilot in Ontario. She attended the open house at Aylmer with her father and brother, Marshall (Sonny) Montgomery Jr., who has also made solo flights and qualified for civilian pilot papers. Anne is shown inspecting one of the planes on display in No. 5 hangar."
1_2535: "The exhibition of Second World War fighting craft in No. 5 hanger at the Aylmer Air Station held a special appeal for the children, Saturday afternoon, during the observance of National Air Day. Hundreds availed themselves of the opportunity to "explore" the bombers and fighters. One group was photographed as the youngsters were climbing over a German Messerschmidt."

- "Rams Guide Rail - The remote-controlled vehicle has just hurtled down a runway at 50 miles per hour and crashed into a three-cable guide rail at the Fingal airport. The car ripped out five posts, but the guide rail held it form travelling off the road. The department of highways, which is conducting safety tests at the airport, invited the communications media to view some tests yesterday. About 25 turned out". (5a)
- "Unsuccessful Test - There has to be one spoilsport in every group and this 50-foot sectional steel pole mounted on a break-away base was the culprit yesterday at a press showing of department of highway safety tests at the Fingal airport. The pole, which is supposed to fly up and allow the vehicle to pass safely under it before the pole falls to the group, didn't work the way it was expected to, and one of the sections landed on the roof". Only memories of the once busy base will remain for the many men who served there. The runways used by the Fairy Battles, Bolingbrokes, Lysanders and Avro Ansons are being torn up. The old base was acquired several years ago by the province. Much of the land about and between the runways has been farmed. The Ontario Department of Lands and Forests will be making the property a management hunting area during the cold weather months. Only two hangars remain on the premises. Tenders were called recently for their removal".

- Two black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 11, 1967 with captions:
- "Site of Testing - This runway at the former RCAF airport at Fingal will soon see use in a study being conducted by the Ontario Department of Highways. Seen running down the middle of the runway is a slotted rail, along which vehicles will be propelled by remote control. Barely visible in the background are a few posts, parts of a guard rail now under construction. The vehicles will strike the guard rail at an acute angle - what happens then is what the department wants to find out".
- "Hangar Full of Cars - One of the five existing hangars at the former RCAF Station Fingal is at present being used by Department of Highways officials as headquarters. Inside the building are 16 late model station wagons. It is believed the vehicles will be used in a scientific study of high speed collisions between automobiles and guard rails in an attempt to make the highway driving safer. The cars will be propelled along a slotted rail by remote control and allowed to collide with a diagonally situated guard rail now under construction on a runway at the abandoned airport".
