- Scope and Content
- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 8, 1957 with caption: "Honor Guard For Brigadier- To be chosen to serve in the honor guard for Brig. T. G. Gibson, D.S.O., Western Ontario Area Commander, at the passing out parade next Thursday evening for the Elgin Regiment's cadet squadron, has been a matter of great competition among the 155 members of the squadron. During the past week, the guard troop of 22 members has been drilling diligently at the Wilson Avenue Armory and its performance is already oustanding. The troop is being developed as a precision drill squad and is practicing 15 drill movements without a word of command. Chosen to serve on the guard of honor are Cpl. H. R. Warren as guard commander, Cpl. R. A. Karn, as second-in-command, and troopers K. M. Vary, G. Petraszko, M. Millman, B. Barnard, M. Skowronski, J. Carter, K. G. Preston, G. Walker, D. Chamberlain, B. Barber, R. C. Hume, E. Merritt, G. Freeman, R. Lawrence, D. Evans, W. Smith, K. Swan, E. Jones, R. Fleming and J. Vigars. In the above picture Squadron Sergeant-Major W. Limebeer and Sgt. W. Smith are seen checking the guard in the present-arms movement."
