- This is a photograph of a blacksmith shop in Shedden, ca. 1885. The house at rear is the Francis Home. John Doan Francis is identified as third from right, seated. In the 1890 Elgin County directory, there were two people listed as having blacksmith shops in Shedden: John Andrews and John Schultz. One of the posters is for Nimble Ned according to the Trotting Register he was foaled in 1885 by Rocker and dam Gipsy Maid. Bred by E.B. Tole, Blenheim Ontario.
