- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published 1975 with caption: " Mrs. William Ayearst, third from the left, was the guest speaker at the Elgin Antique Club, which met recently at the Elgin County Museum. Mrs. Ayearst spoke on the subject of buttons and brought some of her extensive collection. She said that she can tour the world by looking at her collection. Mrs. Ayearst has buttons made of Alaskan ivory, some of the first buttons made in the English cottage industry, as well as calico buttons and buttons from China and Japan. Shown with Mrs. Ayearst are, from left to right, Charlie Mitchener, Mrs. W.B. Mathers, vice-president of the Elgin Antique Club, Mrs. Ayearst and Mrs. William Anderson, a member of the Talbot Button Club."
