- Photograph showing the brick home of Amos Rogers (1831-1906). Amos was born near Newmarket and came to the Sparta district in the 1860s and bought lot 20, Concession 5. In 1948, his great-granddaughter, Mrs. Sam McLorn lived on the farm. Included in the Sparta Sorosis Women's Institute Tweedsmuir History Book, Volume Two.
