- Scope and Content
- Photograph showing the home of William B. Cole and Almira Mills Cole, ca. 1886. William and Almira Cole are shown in the photo at the buggy with their son Earl (b. 1884), while their other children are on the porch, in upper rooms or veranda. The house was built in 1880 by William B. Cole on Lot 21, Concession 5, Yarmouth Township. The property was originally part of the John Mills estate. John Mills (1770-1864) purchased 1200 acres in 1831 and divided the land between his six sons. Almira's father, Samuel Mills, was a son of John Mills and Abigail Minard Mills (1770-1864). William and Almira Cole had at least five children: Mable, Anna, Jeannie, Emma and Earl. Included in the Sparta Sorosis Women's Institute Tweedsmuir History Book, Volume Two.
