- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published May 10, 1954 with caption: "Being Replaced - The St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital will replace the St. Thomas Memorial Hospital, Pearl and Scott streets (seen above), which has been congested for years and made the erection of a much larger hospital necessary. The Amasa Wood section erected in 1891 is in the foreground, the Hepburn-Forsythe wing, erected later, is at the right, and the Memorial section, opened in 1924, is at the left."
