- History / Biographical
- Malahide Township lies between Yarmouth and Bayham Townships, and is bounded on the north by South Dorchester and on the south by Lake Erie. It is comprised of about 6,000 acres of land, and received it's name from Colonel Talbot in honour or remembrance of the Castle of Malahide in Ireland.
- On January 1st, 1998, Malahide Township amalgamated with the former Township of South Dorchester and the former Village of Springfield. The newly-created municipality, population approximately 8900, decided to keep the name of Malahide Township.
