Catherine Ford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lou Ford, Rodney, was the PC candidate, Don Rose, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Rose, Eagle, was the Liberal candidate and Jane Johnston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Johnston, Clachan, was the NDP candidate. No students would allow their names to be linked with either the Social Credit Party or the Credististes, so the names of the national leaders were used and not a single vote was cast in their favor."
