- History / Biographical
- U.S.S. #3 was organized in 1913 from parts of Aldborough S.S. #12 (Argyle), Aldborough S.S. #9 (Crinan), Dunwich S.S. #10 (Campbellton), and Dunwich S.S. #16 (Bennett's). A schoolhouse was built on the farm of John McEachren on the northwest corner of Lot 1, Concession 3. U.S.S. #3 closed in June, 1965 and its students were divided between Dunwich/Dutton Public School and Aldborough Public School.
- Information taken from Elgin County Schools, written by Jim Doelman and published in 1982.
- The school was sold at public auction in 1965. The building was purchased by the Crinan Women's Institute and Committee as a Community hall for $800. It was later known as the Crinan WI Community Centre.
- Scope and Content
- One black and white photograph of Union School Section #3 Aldborough school. Date not known. The school was known as the "Townline" school, and served students from both Dunwich and Aldborough. The school was built in 1913 and closed in 1965. Included in the Crinan Women's Institute Tweedsmuir History, Volume One.
