- Scope and Content
- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published July 21, 1976 with caption, "Seen Better Days - From the graffiti in the wings of the old opera hall in Aylmer, the 1920's were its best years, when guests streamed in to watch Vaudeville acts. Now the dusty theatre, which is above the town's municipal offices, is condemned because there's only one entrance, says Deputy Clerk-treasurer Chuck Knapp. There used to be a grand front entrance but it was barred up to make Mr. Knapp's office several years ago. The town is hoping someone will come up with an idea for the 103-year-old building once it is vacated this week. (T-J Aylmer Bureau Photo)"
