- Two black and white photographs used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published September 24, 1959 with captions:
- " St. Thomas Public and Seperate School grade VII students not only learned about early St. Thomas history yesterday (September 23, 1959) but they had an afternoon free from school studies as well. In the above picture, they await the start of the ceremony commemorating Capt. Daniel Rapelje, this city's first citizen." (11a)
- " Hon. Bryan L. Cathcart, Minister of Travel and Publicity, was guest speaker at the City Hall ceremony on Wednesday and stressed the importance of Canadian history to more than 200 school children. In the above picture, Mr. Cathcart begins his address while seated are from left to right: Monseigneur W.S. Morrison, Mayor Vincent A. Barrie, Reeve J.B. Wilson of S. Dorchester, and Rev. J.K. West.
