Any time a OUC person appears in the paper, it is traditional for him to serve a donut luncheon to his less-exposed buddies at the office. On hand at the Leslie Street hydrant are Chris and Jamie Hobgood, John A. MacDonald, Wayne Axelson, Paul Hamilton and Doug Porter."

- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published December 4, 1957 with caption: "Hydro Building Nears Completion - Work on construction of a new Ontario Hydro area office and service building in Aylmer is moving forward rapidly as may be seen from the above picture. Located on No. 73 Highway just north of the town, the building is located on the site of the present transformer station. The structure is expected to be ready for use in about four weeks when the Hydro will move from its present location on Myrtle street where it has been situated since 1926. General contractor is the firm of Hendriks and Herman, of Aylmer."

The large stand pipe (or holding tank) is 100 feet in height and holds 100,000 gallons of water. The stand pipe, erected in 1896, has been open since then, and now it is being capped by the workmen."

The above plan shows the location of the main trunk lines. Marked with an "X," the first trunk extends from a pumping station east of Water Street, through town, then north to the C.N.R.-Wabash track and west to the lagoons. The second will run from John Street South, across Fath Avenue to Fourth Avenue, then north to a point just below Clarence Street. The lagoons will cover nearly 70 acres if land owned by the town."

- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published November 2, 1973 with caption: "Watermain Repairs - Public Utilities Commission had a hard time Thursday finding the break in a watermain below John Street just north of Talbot Street in Aylmer. PUC Superintendent Barry Pinch explained: "It took longer to find the break than to fix it." Repair clamps were installed on the six-inch main to correct a crack. The job took all day and the flow of traffic at the main intersection was hampered. Mr. Pinch said the break could not be attributed to a Hallowe'en prank."

After four days of excavation, the trench for the Elk Street sanitary sewer already stretches halfway to John Street. Work on the sewer, stretching from Victoria to John Street is expected to be completed in 45 days. Cost to the municipality is estimated at $87,439.50."
