- Aerial view of the McCredie farm near Lyons, Ontario, including a brick house and and a circular barn. The house was built in 1908 by Mr. Wilson McCredie, proprietor of the McCredie Brick & Tile Yard, using bricks from his foundry located across the road from the house. The barn was built in 1911 and was demolished because of damage on August 22, 1980. Thomas Coleman helped build the barn. The property was originally a 350 acre farm.

Captions from St. Thomas Times-Journal: "Ayrshire Bull Comes to Elgin From B.C." 1_3045: "Edenbank Robin Beauty 8th, outstanding purebread Ayreshire bull calf recenty purchased by Warren S. Anderson, Port Stanley Highway, from Oliver N. Wells of Edenbank Farm, Sardis, in the beautiful Fraser Valley of British Columbia. The young animal is one of the first of the famous strain of Ayrshires to be brought into this district and is regarded by dairy cattle authorities as a very promising bull. The strength of loin is one of the features of the calf. Mr. Anderson and his daughter, Miss Caroline Anderson, are shown in the above photograph with the latest addition to the Anderson herd."

Sahara Dawn is the first foal of 'Sahara Jane', a one-half Arabian mare and 'Camariff', a pure-bread Arabian stallion. She is the first Arabian filly to be born in the St. Thomas area. Al Shamid stables have eight saddle horses and jumpers."

It may be an indication that bluebirds are becoming more plentiful. Probably no bird is closer to the hearts of many people, who, over the years, have grieved their gradual decline. In the above picture a female bluebird is about to enter the 1 1/2 inch hole in a fruit can which the pair have been utilizing for a nest. Walter Auckland of Talbotville, who said he had not seen a bluebird for many years, was surprised that the birds came to his yard and took over the can that he had nailed to the top of the fence."

- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published January 2, 1969 with caption:" A five-year-old mare's flare for good timing gave her owner the honor of having the first foal of the New Year in this area. Murray Duncan, RR 5, St. Thomas, is the proud owner of Dawn Mist, who gave birth to her 85-pound foal, Chief Spot, at about 2 a.m. New Year's Day. All three are shown in the above picture. The colt's father is Kingsatin, a registered quarter horse owned by Bob Paul, RR 1, Union, a horse which came originally from the King farm in Texas, known for its rearing of quarter horses. Usually taking 11 months for a foal to arrive, Chief Spot wasn't expected upon the scene until January 11."

- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 12, 1961 with caption:" Horses are naturally curious animals but the ones pictured above were only mildly interested when a Times-Journal cameraman photographed them on Friday. Perhaps it was the heat that made them lackadaisical and content to rest under the spreading tree. The purebread part Arabian horses and the tiny colt are owned by Clare Bowlby, of 41 Sunset Drive. The owner has a number of other fine horses in his stables and intends to enter a prize three-year-old at the Canadian National Exhbition in Toronto."

- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published June 5, 1965 with caption:" When 'Misty', a palamino owned by Leonard Knight, 16 Park Avenue, was injured and became seriously ill, most horse experts predicted she would die, and is she lived, would never foal. 'Misty' was so sick that for six months, she hung in a sling, suspended from the rafters in the barn, But last week she gave birth to a filly, four years after the accident. Mr. Knight is seen holding the animal while the baby contemplates dinner."
