Charest puts the sledge hammer to a portion of the vacant building east of his dealership on Talbot Street after announcing this morning a $100,000 expansion to that property. The move, which will bring all the segments of his dealership together, is expected to be completed by the end of September. Watching the action, from his left are, Bob Boissoin, district sales manager for General Motors, Dave Thwaites, president of the St. Thomas Chamber of Commerce, and Ald. Ed Currah, acting mayor and president of the St. Thomas Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation." (1)

Chev-Olds-Cadillac on Talbot Street looks at the charred inside of the building's main power panel which erupted into a brief, but small, fire late Saturday morning. Mr. Bennett said by the time the fire department arrived the flames had disappeared but the box was still smouldering. Mr. Bennett said the panel did its job in blowing, otherwise there may have been a more serious fire. The small fire did not affect business at the dealership this morning." (2)

The awards are in recognition of progressive management, modern facilities, sound merchandising practices and high quality standards. C.B. "Chuch" Fearn, president of Fearn Ford, is pictured receiving the award form Barry Drayton, regional manager for Ford of Bramalea. The number of winning dealers for 1971 was 43 per cent above the total for 1970."

"Cars Galore - Hundreds of new and used cars are available at the new Fearn Ford Sales Limited Auto Centre on Talbot Street at First Avenue. The new premises of Fearn Ford are located on an 80,000 square foot site, of which 20,000 is devoted to building facilities and the remainder to parking and display space for cars and trucks." (5a)
"Quick Paint Job - The latest in car painting facilities are one of the many features of the new Fearn Ford Sales Limited Auto Centre which officially opens today. These painting facilities enable Fearn Ford's skilled and experienced painters to paint and dry a car in 45 minutes." (5b)
"20 Bays - The modern, spacious, new facilities at Fearn Ford Sales Limited Auto Centre which will be officially opened today, features 20 bays for mechanical and body work on cars and trucks. The service area of the new building takes up 15,000 square feet of the 20,000 square feet occupied by the entire building." (5c)
"New Cars - The spacious, completely glassed-in, carpeted showroom at the new Fearn Ford Sales Limited Auto Centre is one of the most modern in Western Ontario. It has a capacity to display eight cars on the floor at one time. The new 1969 models of Ford, Mustang, Fairlane, Falcon, Galaxie, Torino, LTD, Thunderbird and Ford Trucks will be on display at Fearn Ford's official opening today at its new location on Talbot Street at First Avenue."
