Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, October 8, 1952, page six: “Bank of Toronto Staff Moves to New Quarters.” 2_1814: “All set to move into new quarters on Thursday are these members of the local branch of the Bank of Toronto which has been doing business in St. Thomas at a temporary location until it could take possession and modernize the premises at 472-474 Talbot street, which it purchased from the Public Utilities Commission. The building, built in 1916, was used for about 10 years by the Huron and Erie Mortgage Corporation and since 1930 by the P.U.C. Its original design lends itself well to banking work. The Bank of Toronto staff here includes, left to right, Hilton Dunk, accountant; Lois Smeltzer, stenographer; Lou Harper, teller; E.W. Cook, manager, and Robert Fry, teller.”
