Black and white photograph showing members of an Aylmer-area deer hunting club, ca. 1927. Hunters are, from left, Charles White, Bill Lanyon, Al White, Joe Conway, Bill Conway, Al Dickson, Linius Lines, Charles Clarke and Grey Fuller. The photo was printed from a glass plate negative loaned to The Times-Journal by Wilfred Smith, Aylmer." Note that the names cited in the original caption do not match the number of men shown in the photograph (nine names; eleven men): it is possible that the butcher (wearing the white apron) and the dog handler are not included in the list of hunters.

In May 2019, Gene Dopp commented on Facebook: "Ernie lived across the street from us when we bought the old Kebbel Funeral home at 73 King St in 1967 until his death. His daughter was Jean Matheson - founder of the J.O.Y. Class. Mrs M , as she was known, lived there until Dementia hit her and she was moved to a nursing home. As kids we shoveled their sidewalks".
