Photographs of a group of veterans standing in front of Trinity Church, with the men in the front row holding wreaths. Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, November 12, 1951, page one: “Colors and Wreaths Borne in Parade.” 1_3315: “Six hundred veterans and the men of two large bands, most of them also ex-servicemen, took part in the Remembrance Day parade on Sunday to Trinity Church and the Memorial Hospital, the largest since the end of World War II. In the parade a large force of the younger veterans of the late war marched with nearly an equal number of veterans of World War I, and there were even veterans of the Boer War among them, notably Lt.-Col. W.J. Green and Alderman William Stokes. The above photograph was taken at the conclusion of the impressive service at Trinity Church when the color party of Branch 41, Canadian Legion, commanded by Major E.G. King, and members of the large party of wreath bearers came out of the church. (See story, page 10).”

Photographs of the Aylmer Trinity Church War Memorial, a chair with a plaque of names and a flag placed next to the chair. C.G.F. Stone, M.B.E., Ottawa, Principal Chaplain Protestant of the Royal Canadian Army Chaplain Corps. The memorial is a work of fine craftsmanship to which a number of Aylmer people contributed, principal among whom was Mahlon Hale, who built it of native oak throughout, including the paneling of the wall behind. The finishing was done through the kindness of Charles L. Anthony, St. Thomas. The Navy, Army and Air Force crests painted in the wall panel above the memorial were the work of A.W.R. McDougall, and the shell cases which support the railing about the memorial were fitted by H.A. White, James, H. Barnum and F.E. Shorney […]”
