- 2 negatives: plastic
- Scope and Content
- Photograph of Boy Scouts unloading old paper from a truck.
Caption from St. Thomas Times-Journal, April 25, 1953, page thirteen: “Boy Scouts Turn “Paper Boys” in Drive.”
1_233: “It not only rained raindrops Saturday morning, but it rained paper up around Swift’s coal yard where load after load of old paper was brought in during the Boy Scout paper drive. Every Scout group in the city worked like beavers as the proceeds of the drive are to help pay for a kitchen building on the Port Talbot camp site. Here District Commissioner Charles Johnson (front centre) pitches in to help Scouts and Wolf Cubs stack paper that is unloaded in a shed at the yard. The picture, taken in mid-morning, shows only a portion of what was being collected. It will be trans-shipped to Brantford by a firm that can make use of it.”

- "Over Hill and Dale - About 60 riders took part in the annual London Hunt ride at Malahide Farms, Port Talbot Estate, on a beautiful fall Saturday. Hills, barriers, narrow trails, and sandy beaches were all part of the varied terrain encountered in the ride." (1b)
- "Up and Over - An unidentified rider clears the barrier during the tenth annual London Hunt at Port Talbot Estate. The purpose of the vent is ti enagle riders and their animals to get a good, healthy workout." (1c)
- "Dressed for the Hunt - Caroline Bazley, of Malahide Farms, dresses in the traditional black attire of the women hunters as she rides atop Pookah. The women wear black jackets while the men wear scarlet. Both wear top hats and hunting boots topped with brown leather on the hunt." (1d)
- "Tally Ho - David Jones, foreground, huntsman for the London Hunt, sets out with a pack of 29 English fox hounds during the annual hunt at the Talbot Estate, Port Talbot. About 60 riders took part in the fun ride. A drag, or artificial scent, is used to set the hounds on course." (1e)

- "Ready for the Hunt - John Ker, of Port Talbot, host for the London Hunt held there on Saturday, gives a few words of instruction to about 60 riders prior to starting the 12-mile jaunt. He was dressed in the bright scarlet colour coat (the pinks) which are the regular hunting attire. The unit does not use real foxes for the sport, but 15 couples (that is 30 hounds) follow an artificial scent." (2a)
- "Riding to the Hounds - Saturday morning about 60 riders took part in the 11th annual London Hunt at the Port Talbot Estate in West Elgin. The hounds followed the drag or artificial scent on the course over the picturesque Talbot Creek valley. The event is held as close as possible to October 25, commemorating the signaling of the order of the ill-fated charge of the Light Brigade back in 1854 during the Cimean War. The document was signed by a nephew of Colonel Thomas Talbot." (2b)
