2_1397: "Presents Gavel to Synod; Has It Handed Right Back to Him: Rev. Stanley M. Scott, B.A., of Kincardine, was elected moderator of the Presbyterian Synod of Hamilton and London at the 73rd annual meeting in Knox Church here Monday evening. In the above picture Mr. Scott is seen holding the gavel, which he had just presented to the Synod as a gift from the session of the Kincardine church, where the Synod met last year. Shortly after mr. Scott presented the gavel to the secretary, Rev. J. K. West, it was handed back to hom by Mr. West and at once put to use. In the picture above are shown, left to right: Rev. Harry S. Rodney, of Knox, the host church, St. Thomas; Rev. Mr. Scott; Rev. J. K. West, minister of Alma street church, St. Thomas, and secretary of the Synod; Rev. Dr. Angus MacIver, of Wyoming, the retiring moderator."

2_1342 and 2_1340: “Perfect June weather favored Alma College for baccalaureate Sunday, and above photograph shows, the long procession of faculty and students arriving at Knox Presbyterian Church for the baccalaureate service in the morning, after walking from the college down the tree-shaded streets. The students were all in white with the members of the graduating class in long dresses. The lower photographed shows the head of the procession leaving the main building of the college. In the front are Principal Bruce Millar and Mrs. Harper Sibley, of Rochester, N.Y., the speaker; and behind them Lady Eaton, of Toronto, a member of the college Board, and Rev. H.S. Rodney, minister of Knox Presbyterian Church.”

- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published February 16, 1957 with caption: "A Flag For the Courtroom - A large silk Union Jack, 6 by 9 feet, together with a standard, was presented to the Elgin County Court on Monday morning by the Municipal Chapter, I.O.D.E., and was dedicated by Rev. H.S. Rodney, of Knox Presbyterian Church. The ceremony took place just prior to the opening of a citizenship court in which 90 persons took the oath of allegiance and received their certificates of citizenship. The presentation was made by Mrs. Robert Lark, regent of the Municipal Chapter, standing in centre foreground, to the clerk of the court, Ian D. Cameron, on bended knee, who then placed it in its standard to one side of the courtroom. It was brought into the room by the Municipal Chapter standard bearer, Mrs. Keith M. McGregor, standing at right. Rev. Rodney is seen in the foreground, left. Standing at the bench at the rear is Judge J.F. McMillan, right, and John Mackenzie, deputy clerk of the court. Subsequently, Judge McMillan spoke to the court on the significance of the flag as a symbol of national unity."
