- In May 2020, Paul James Pressey commented: "My aunt and Uncle Dorothy and Wayne Underhill bought it in the 70's and turned it into what is now Port Bruce Manor, a group home. I remember being in it before it was converted. Rev Canon Morris was a veteran of WWII and I looked after him @ Parkwood Hospital".

- Colonel Talbot Home. One of 50 original glass "lantern" slides created in 1933 by Rev. Canon Norman Morris as part of a project to document the domestic architectural heritage of West Elgin. Slides were originally shown as part of a presentation by Rev. Morris to the Elgin Historical Society, November 6, 1933 entitled "Old Houses of West Elgin." Most of the images were subsequently printed in the Elgin Historical Society publication "Houses of Elgin County: Houses of West Elgin", 1998. Published as item number B-2 in "Houses of West Elgin" (Elgin Historical Society, 1998) p. 18.
