2_2635: “Elgin County Council starting its November session on Tuesday, played host to 22 boys and youth, a plan which has been carried out for the past four years. The boys were personal guest for the day of the elected representative of the various municipalities in Elgin. They took a deep interest in the Council’s proceedings. At the noon hours, along with Warden Stuart Little, they lined up in front of the court house to have their pictures taken for The Times-Journal, wit the above result. The youth were as follows:

1_1111: “A representative group of Elgin County boys and youth attended the opening of the Elgin County Council’s November sessions, Tuesday, as guest of the Councillors. The custom of bringing in a group of Elgin young people on the opening day of the November session was started about five years ago and now become in the nature of an institution, being known as Young Elgin Day. The 1950 guests are shown above with their escorts just before starting a tour of the courthouse and the registry office. They were conducted on the tours by Deputy Reeves Ted Ashton, Aldborough; Walter Auckland, Southwold; William McKillop, Dunwich; and James Fuller of Malahide. The boys completed the day with a visit to the Elgin County Home. One of the last from East Elgin said it was the first time he had ever been in St. Thomas or Port Stanley, where noonday luncheon was enjoyed at the Stork Club.”
