2_2160: “The Canada Iron Foundry baseball champion of 1949, who captured the title of the St. Thomas and Districts Baseball League from the Belmont entry this year. Belmont won the league honors a year ago. With the championship of the league goes the Timken Roller Bearing Co. trophy which is seen in the above photograph being held by Pete Paul. The C.I.F., ironically defeated the Timken team in the finals after both teams has survived gruelling play-off games. The newly-crowned champs, however, swept through the title in the finals, after one tie game. The champions are officials listed above are as follows:
