- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published June 11, 1974 with caption:"Transport Escorted - About 18 Ontario Provincial Police officers were on hand Monday to escort a transport truck from the Borden's Ice Cream plant in Belmont. About 47 employees have been on the picket line since May 3. The company notified them they would be locked out the day before and since then they have walked the picket line. Reinforcements from the labour councils in St. Thomas and London were on hand Monday morning to help in the protest. Salaried employees were kept outside the area in the morning. Police assisted in getting the trucks inside in the afternoon. Provincial government intervention is expected, according to one of the union officials."

Picketers asked the driver to honour the picket, but gave no opposition when Ontario Provincial Police of the St. Thomas Detachment cleared the way for the truck to move off the company property. Members of the NFU began picketing the company at around 6 a.m. this morning in protest of the company's purchase of powdered milk from outside Canada."

An Ontario Provincial Police Constable was called to assist the truck's departure. There have been no negotiations since the first day of the four-week-old strike which began May 3. The main issue is wages and today a union official said they plan to lay a charge of unfair labour practice against the company."

The employees have been picketing since 12:01 a.m. Friday. They are, from left, Mrs. Sheila Sealy, of New Sarum, Tom Kinsella, and Mrs. Ida Mills, both of Belmont. The contract expired March 1 and negotiations have broken down. There are 46 workers - packers, operators, freezer held and truck drivers - at the plant affected by the strike. They are represented by the Retail Wholesale Department Store Union and this is the Dairy worker's local 440."

- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published December 23, 1959 with caption:"Belmont Water Tower - This 135 feet tall water tower is being built for the Borden Company ice cream plant in Belmont. The tower stands in a 100 feet high base and the 35 feet tall tank will hold 100,000 gallons of water. It will hold water to feed the plant sprinkler system and for general plant purposes. The tower stands on seven acres of land recently purchased from Neil Huigenbos, a neighboring farmer. The land will also be used for sewage disposal purposes and elimiate the sewage from entering Kettle Creek. The new tower will be completed in the spring."
