Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published June 3, 1974 with caption: "View Watch Collection - Directors of the Elgin County Cancer Society viewed a large watch collection belonging to Joseph Schmid; president of the West Elgin branch of the society, Sunday. The Board of Directors for the society met at the Schmid home in Rodney where Rowly Martin, St. Thomas campaign chairman, reported that the society had received over $52,000 in the 1974 campaign. The 1974 objective was $41,000. Seen, left to right, viewing one of Mr. Schmid's collection pieces are, Mr. Schmid, Brian Kempster, President of the Elgin Unit; and Mr. Martin."

Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published March 9, 1967 with caption: "Examine Early Glass - A large collection of Canadian glass went on display yesterday at the Elgin County Pioneer Museum. Featured in the collection supplied by members of the St. Thomas Y.M.C.A. Antique Club are several examples of early glass bottles used by bottling companies in the St. Thomas area. Looking over a Maple Leaf plate featuring a "Concordia" pattern and a soda bottle used by the Henderson Company of St. Thomas in 1879, are left to right: William Ayearst, R. F. Hunt, Mrs. C. A. Low, and Mrs. C. Berryhill, all of St. Thomas. The showing continues throughout the month of March, with tea being served each Wednesday afternoon."

Scope and Content
Collection consists of digital copies of a variety of documents, photographs and other objects in the Elgin County Museum collection, primarily relating to the First World War. These include correspondence of the Aylmer Travel Club, photographs taken at the Wolseley Barracks in London and a bible owned by Victoria Cross recipient Ellis Wellwood Sifton of Wallacetown as well as a photograph album kept by his family.

Metal cylinder on square wood base. Round metal rod runs perpendicular to the device. Two brass rods connected t the lower run vertically up to a brass coloured part that is then connected to a lever. There are fittings for pipes to connect to the device. Only visible marking is on brass coloured tap that reads "The United Brass Co. New York".
