Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published June 22, 1971 with caption: "Stephen Orser, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Orser of South Street, Aylmer, was presented with an emblem and letter from the Boy Scouts of Canada for his quick thinking when he rescued Shayne Sager, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sager, from a watery grave in an area irrigation pond, October 19, 1970. The 1st Aylmer Cub Pack, of which young Stephen is a member, looked on as Miss Sheila Stirling, Akela of the 8th St. Thomas group representing the district staff presented the emblem. The letter presented to Stephen contains information about the Medal of Meritorious Conduct to be presented to the boy in Ottawa by the Hon. Roland Michener, Governor General of Canada, in November. Seen above, left to right, are Miss Cheryl Moore, one of the Aylmer pool swimming instructors who taught Stephen; the Orser boy; Don Houghton and Gordon Smith, president and vice-president of the Elgin and District Boy Scouts of Canada."

Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published April 6, 1971 with caption: "More than 400 people will have a happier Easter this year because the 2nd Aylmer Cub Pack cared enough. The pack's 26 members were busy at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church preparing the many goody-filled baskets they will distribute to Elgin Manor, Friendco Workshop, Friendship School, Aylmer Nursing Home, Parson's Nursing Home, and the children in the children's ward of the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. Seen here packing the baskets are, from left to right, Mark Loveday, 10; John Klachan, 9; Frank Klachan, 7; and Cub Master Mrs. Roger Vandierendonck. Six adults, parents and leaders, were also out helping."

Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published March 30, 1978 with caption: "The Second Aylmer Cub Pack has been busy recently delivering over 180 Easter baskets to schools and nursing homes around Elgin County. Yesterday, they visited Springfield School and distributed the candy-filled baskets to the junior TMR (trainable mentally retarded) class. here, Sixer Doug Freeman, 10, hands one of the baskets of goodies to Jennifer Alward, 11, of Straffordville, while Roy Shoup, 13, (far right) and Akela Loreen Vandierendonck (far left) look on. Loreen started this annual practive of basket hand-outs 16 years ago when she first started working with the Cubs in Aylmer."

Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published February 19, 1975 with caption: "The annual father-and-son banquet sponsored by the two Aylmer Cub Packs and the one Scout Troop was held Tuesay night at Trinity Anglican Church. Among the 130 fathers and sons in attendance were from left, front row, David, 13 and Dwayne McQuiggan 11, of the 1st Aylmer Boy Scouts; Scott Palmer 8, and of the 1st Aylmer Cub Pack; and Bradley Flagel 9, of the 2nd Aylmer Cub Pack. Behind the boys are their fathers Fred McQuiggan of RR 1, Aylmer, Wayne Palmer of 31 Centennial Avenue in Aylmer, and Tony Flagel of 200 Caverly Road. After the baquet the fathers and sons watched a film by Lloyd Stock of the Ministry of Natural Resources on wildlife conservation. Headtable guests included Joe Van Beers, chairman of the 2nd Aylmer Group Committee; Maurice Landon, president of the Optimist Club; Harry Barnsley, chairman of the 1st Aylmer Group Committee, and chairman of the evening; Mac Millard of the Optimist Club and Rev. C. T. McManus from the Our Lady of Sorrows Church. After the film the boys were presented with door prizes."
