- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 26, 1976 with caption: "Two Scouts from Vienna Austria, borthers Chris and Klaus Vavrik are greeted by 18th St. Thomas Venturer Scouts Scott Barker (left) and Paul Hodgins (right) at a reception held for the visitors at the Red Cross Rooms Wednesday night. The Vavrik brothers are visiting their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hikele, of 75 Locust Street. At the reception the visitors viewed a slide presentation of the 14th World Jamboree held in Norway last year narrated by Scott Barker, one of the participants and exchanged notes on Scouting in both countries. The Austrian boys were presnted with coffee mugs bearing the Elgin Scout District crest by L. J. Beavis, Elgin district commissioner. A selection of Canadian Scout crests was also presented to the visitors."
