150a was published in the Tillsonburg News on March 5, 1980 with the following caption: "Five members of the Port Burwell Boy Scout Troop ended fur years of work on February 26 when they received the Chief Scout Award. Biff Jarvis, District Commissioner for Big Creek, attended the meeting to present the pins. In the photo, from the left,are Scouters Sid Shelly and Lloyd Goldthorp, Scouts Jim Matthews, Tom Csinos, Frank Lama, Paul Rose, Dave Shelly and Commissioner Jarvis".
150d was published in the Tillsonburg News on March 5, 1980 with the following caption: "Loreen Nevillw has been an active member of the Port Burwell Group Committee since 1971. The District Commission for Big Creek, Biff Jarvis, presented her with a five-year service pin on February 26. As shown by the dates, the presentation was a little ate. Loreen will be eligible to receive a second pin next year".

"Queen's Scouts - In a special ceremony Saturday in Aylmer at East Elgin Secondary School 108 Boy Scouts received the Queen's Scout Certificate from Deputy International Commissioner J. W. H. Miner. In making the presentations, he challenged the scouts to be part of a generation which remembered as adults how to understand. The scouts are pictured prior to the presentations in the school gymnasium-auditorium. Eight boys from St. Thomas and one from Aylmer were among the award winners." (11a)
"Official Guests - Deputy International Commissioner John William Miner (extreme left) talked with members of the official party Saturday concerning the effect of the Scouting movement on an International scope. The occasion was the presentation of 108 Queen's Scouts Awards at East Elgin Secondary School in Aylmer. Members of the official guest party, left to right, are: Russell McKibbon, Mayor of Aylmer; A. B. McCallum, Warden of Elgin; W. R. Skelton, Assistant Provincial Commissioner to the Great Lakes Region; G. N. Colledge, St. Thomas Fire Chief and honorary president of the Elgin District." (11b)

Left to right, the Scouts are: Angus McKenzie, Donald Schweyer, Richard Cornish, Larry Ryckman and John Edwards. "A Difficult Feat - Worming one's way through a series of tires without touching the groud is not an easy feat, but the boy in the two pictures on the left seems to have the right idea. The boy in the right hand picture appears to have met some difficulty however. these boys were among the 150 Scouts from Elgin District and neighboring districts who took part in Elgin Scout Camporee at lake Whittaker at the weekend. The tires were part of an obstacle course that took even the fleetest of foot 29 minutes to complete." Photographs 29a and 29b share the same caption.
"Perfect Landing - A Scout makes a perfect landing after a fast ride down the aerial runway, part of the activity program at last weekend's Elgin District Scout Camporee held at Lake Whittaker." (29c)

The visiting Scouts will spend a week of their visit hiking on the Bruce Trail from Tobermory to Lion's Head with members of Mr. Leach's Scout troop and reception was held at Patterson's Conservation Area on Saturday to welcome the visitors. They were formally welcomed to Elgin District, Scouts Canada by L. J. Beavis, district commissioner, who also made a presentation of souvenirs."
