- W9 B6 210a was published in the West Lorne Sun on May 3, 1973, with the caption: "Church members from several area churches presented Easter music in Rodney United Church Sunday evening to almost a capacity crowd. Weeks of practice went into the two hour-long musicale, which was under the direction of the church's choir leader, Emerson Padfield. Singers were from the church, the Presbyterian Christian, and Baptist Churches, as well as from West Lorne United, Crinan and Kintyre Presbyterian Churches and Wardsville United. Rev. George Lewis of Rodney-New Gasglow-KIntyre, Presbyterian Churches, also a choir member, wrote the narrative which was read between numbers by Rev. James Vanslyke of the church."

On September 5, ' 1978 school opened with 283 pupils enrolled in both
St. Mary' s and St. Thomas More Schools. This covers from Junior
Kindergarten to the end of Grade 8. Mr. Joseph Tokar is the Director of
Education. He followed Mr. J. J. Burger who retired in 1976.
