Seed Fair officials were more than pleased with the facilities and accommodation at the Community Centre, and its central location is ideal for country-wide events of this type. Space was provided on the floor of the auditorium for commercial exhibits and competitors' entries, while the stage was used for the display of carcasses in the first Elgin County Competitive Bacon Show." " Winner Congratulated- Jacob Friedrich, R.R. 2, Rodney, right, above, was premier exhibitor of the 1955 Elgin County Seed Fair held in St. Thomas on Monday and Tuesday and is here seen being congratulated by the runner-up, John A. McMillan, R.R. 1, Dutton. Mr. McMillan was premier exhibitor at the fair last year." (C8 Sh5 B2 F11 2b)
