Former Royal Bank Clerk…Fell In Action
“…Before enlisting Gunner Bolton was employed on the Royal Bank Staff here but later went to Windsor and shortly afterwards he joined the Bank of Montreal staff at Montreal. It was there that he joined the 27th Battalion and trained at Valcartier, Quebec. In August, 1915, he sailed overseas going into the trenches in January, 1916. He had been in the trenches for 22 months and had never even been wounded. The deceased was about 23 years of age and was a fine specimen of manhood and the word of his death came as a shock to the whole community".
