- Digitized copy of an original survey plan of the Township of Caradoc, County of Middlesex, registered July 16, 1821, Deputy Surveyor's Office, Port Talbot, Mahlon Burwell, Deputy Surveyor. Plan also includes the notation "Township of Caradoc, Surveyed by Order from the Surveyor General's Office,bearing date the 19th day of January 1820; containing 77,497 Acres." Scale 1 inch equals 40 chains. Plan includes annotations dated 1824-1837. Various lots shown in the plan are colour in gray and red ink, signifying Clergy (gray) and Crown (red) reserves; or are marked, to the same purpose, "Cn" (Crown) and "Cy" (Clergy). Several lots are marked as reserved for or granted to Mahlon Burwell. The future site of the Town of Strathroy is shown (as yet unnamed and not separated or laid out). Named geographic and cultural features shown in this plan include the Thames River, Base Line (road), the "Road Through the Long Woods", two "mill seat" sites, sites marked "Colliers" and "Turkeys", as well as two first nations village sites designated "Lower Village" and "Upper Village" in an area later reserved for Chippewa and Muncey First Nations.
