I have often wondered why this uniquely designed barn was built in Aldborough Township. When I was painting the original, I researched the bam's history and found a possible explanation for Herbert and Charlotte Baker to have chosen to build a polygonal barn here in the late 1890's. The Bakers bought

only a little of the history recorded in the Clachan Women's Institute Tweedsmuir History Book.
