The A.R. Wright Hardware Store was established in Port Burwell on May 4, 1891 by A.R. Wright. The store burned down in 1899 and a new store was built across the street from the original location. His son, Allan Newell Wright, became an associate in 1913 and assumed full control of the store in 1932, after the death of his father. The store was sold to Louis Toth of Lakeview in April 1962.

1. Typed letter from CSR lawyers 2. Agreement to purchase .75 acres from L. Bell printed with handwritten note attached 3. Series of letters from Edwin Bell to CSR regarding land bought from L. Bell. Land was farmed by Fredrick Dupuis, who was renting it from L. Bell. Dupuis was seeking a damage claim for the amount of $10 for Flax crops that he planted. CSR felt they had no obligation as the owner did not mention at the time of sale that the land was rented. The letter is typed from lawyer Edwin Bell to CSR regarding the statement of claim for Mr. Fredrick Dupuis 4.

1. Memo to G.C. Cunningham, CSR St. Thomas, from William P. Taylor, General Superintendent in Buffalo, New York, with instructions to purchase land for at Niagara Junction. Hand written letter with a note on the back as well. 2. Hand written letter to CSR lawyers regarding the purchase of land at Niagara Junction. The letter notes that there is a dispute over land value, the crops on the land, and payment by CSR. 3. Typed letters transcribed from old records dating to Feb. 14th, 1884 to November 24th, 1884, dealing with issues around Niagara Junction. 4. Agreement to purchase land from Robert Bower for new construction at the Niagara Junction. 5. Receipt and grant of land by Robert Bowen to CSR. Two copies of the form with handwritten details. 6. Hand written note detailing property of Robert Bowen back to 1796, from the Registry Office.

History / Biographical
Kenneth "Ken" McIver Williamson was born in Kintore, Ontario on December 18, 1913 to Harry and Edna (nee McIver) Williamson. He was married to Olive Norah Williamson (nee Pickston) in 1958 and was predeceased by his first wife, Edith L. Williamson (nee Row) in 1957. He had one daughter, Mary E. Stout, who died in 1996. Williamson was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas and formerly of St. Paul's United Church, Aylmer. Throughout his life, Ken was involved in several businesses. He owned Glencoe Creamery (1937 - 1938), Aylmer Dairy (1938-1941), Home Dairy, Bakery and Cafeteria in St.Thomas (1942-1945) and Avon Milling Company. Williamson built and operated the Royal Theatre in West Lorne with his partner Bob McEwan. He also built the Strand Theatre in Aylmer 1947, and owned the Aylmer Bank of Montreal building until was destroyed by fire in 1959. He worked also worked as a real estate agent, as well as in general insurance. He was eventually employed by Denton-Vance Insurance in Tillsonburg. Williamson was also active in municipal politics, serving on Aylmer Town Council and as Reeve from 1952-1956. He was Warden of Elgin County in 1954, a member of the Board of Governors of Memorial Hospital, St. Thomas from 1952-1954 and for the St.Thomas Elgin General Hospital from 1954-1978, also serving as Chairman from 1955-1957. Williamson was a member of McColl Lodge 386, West Lorne, affiliated with Malahide Lodge 140, Aylmer in 1940, and was a Past Master and a Life Member. He was a life Member and Past Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario, a 33rd Degree Mason and a member of the Mocha Shrine in London, Ontario.
