Digitized copy of an original survey plan of the Township of Southwold, County of Elgin, registered December, 1810, Port Talbot, Mahlon Burwell, Deputy Surveyor. Shows the division of the township into concessions and lots with annotations dated 1817-1818 indicating the names of grantees resident on some of these lots. Scale 1 inch equals 40 chains. Named geographic and cultural features shown in this plan include Lake Erie, North Road, Middle Road, Lake Road, Cross Road, Kettle Creek, "Source of the West Branch of Kettle Creek" (with creek shown flowing from an area marked "Tamarack Swamp"), "Boundary between Dunwich and Southwold", footpaths marked "Indian Path to Kettle Creek" and "Old Path from the Mohawk Village", and a first nations village site marked "Delaware Village." Several lots are marked in gray (indicating Clergy reserves) and red ink (Crown reserves) or, to the same purpose, "Clergy" and "Crown". A large tract in the northwest corner of the plan is marked as reserved for or granted to "Col. J.G. Simcoe". The plan also shows part of Delaware Township in Middlesex County (Concessions I-IV, Lots 8-24): the survey grid is shown, but no grantee names.

Digitized copy of an original survey plan of the Town of London, County of Middlesex. Registered October 12, 1826, Surveyor General's Office, York, Thomas Ridout, Surveyor General". Legend reads: "Copied from M. Burwell's Plan of Survey dated 29th June 1826. W.C. [William Chewett]" Scale 1 inch equals 3 chains. Plan shows town streets laid out encompassing the area from Thames Street in the west to Colborne Street in the east, and from South Street in the south to North Street [now Queens Avenue] in the north, with annotations dated 1830-1840 showing the names of grantees resident on various Town lots. The area later occupied by the Middlesex County Court House and Jail (Town block bounded by Thames, King, Ridout and Dundas Streets) is shown in this plan as laid out but vacant. An annotation shows the location of the Theatre Royal on the northeast corner of North and Colborne Streets. Plan shows the following named streets: South, Hill, Grey, Simcoe, Horton, Bathurst, York, King, Dundas, North, Thames, Ridout, Talbot, Richmond, Clarence and Colborne [the latter shown but not named].

Digitized copy of an original survey plan of the Township of Blandford, County of Oxford, registered May 16, 1826, Surveyor General's Office, York, Thomas Ridout, Surveyor General. Scale 1 inch equals 40 chains. Various lots shown in the plan are colour in gray and red ink, and the legend indicates that this signifies Clergy (gray) and Crown (red) reserves. The future site of the Town of Woodstock is shown (tract marked "Reserved" in the southwest corner). Land in this township was distributed principally to former Royal Army and Royal Navy officers as compensation for their service: accordingly, several lots shown in this plan are marked as reserved for or granted to Captain Andrew Drew, R.N., 1792-1878; Admiral Henry Vansittart, R.N., 1777-1843; Major Edward Buller, 1764-1824; Colonel Philip Delatre, 1777-1848; Major Hugh Barwick, who later served as Oxford County Treasurer; Colonel R.A. Hunter, who is credited with establishing the first grammar school in Oxford County in 1848; and William Allan, ca. 1770-1853, member of the Legislative Council of Upper Canada 1825-1841.

Digitized copy of an original survey plan of the Township of Caradoc, County of Middlesex, registered July 16, 1821, Deputy Surveyor's Office, Port Talbot, Mahlon Burwell, Deputy Surveyor. Plan also includes the notation "Township of Caradoc, Surveyed by Order from the Surveyor General's Office,bearing date the 19th day of January 1820; containing 77,497 Acres." Scale 1 inch equals 40 chains. Plan includes annotations dated 1824-1837. Various lots shown in the plan are colour in gray and red ink, signifying Clergy (gray) and Crown (red) reserves; or are marked, to the same purpose, "Cn" (Crown) and "Cy" (Clergy). Several lots are marked as reserved for or granted to Mahlon Burwell. The future site of the Town of Strathroy is shown (as yet unnamed and not separated or laid out). Named geographic and cultural features shown in this plan include the Thames River, Base Line (road), the "Road Through the Long Woods", two "mill seat" sites, sites marked "Colliers" and "Turkeys", as well as two first nations village sites designated "Lower Village" and "Upper Village" in an area later reserved for Chippewa and Muncey First Nations.
