interest was created that nearly 3, 000 Non- Catholics turned out as well as area Catholics. One Baptist Minister was so moved that he wanted to walk in the procession — on being told that this might invalidate the rally he was content to stay among the spectators. In 1944, St. Mary' s Church was decorated in such a fine manner that in the opinion of competent critics it holds first place among the smaller churches of the diocese. At the rectory a new bathroom and hot water heating system were installed

W9 B6 210a was published in the West Lorne Sun on May 3, 1973, with the caption: "Church members from several area churches presented Easter music in Rodney United Church Sunday evening to almost a capacity crowd. Weeks of practice went into the two hour-long musicale, which was under the direction of the church's choir leader, Emerson Padfield. Singers were from the church, the Presbyterian Christian, and Baptist Churches, as well as from West Lorne United, Crinan and Kintyre Presbyterian Churches and Wardsville United. Rev. George Lewis of Rodney-New Gasglow-KIntyre, Presbyterian Churches, also a choir member, wrote the narrative which was read between numbers by Rev. James Vanslyke of the church."
