the first Holy Name Rally for District 1 in West Lorne. So much interest was created that nearly 3, 000 Non- Catholics turned out as well as area Catholics. One Baptist Minister was so moved that he wanted to walk in the procession — on being told that this might invalidate the rally he was content to stay among the spectators. In 1944, St. Mary' s Church was decorated in such a fine manner that in the opinion of competent critics it holds first place among the smaller churches of the diocese. At

"Led the Parade - About 900 Pentecostal Crusaders marched up Wilson Avenue to Wellington Street and back to the St. Thomas-Elgin Memorial Community Centre to lauch their 16th annual District Rally Day.
