- R12 S1 Sh5 B1 147 was published in the West Lorne Sun on February 20, 1964, with the caption: "Disposing of last year's tobacco took on a new twist at the intersection of 401 and Furnival a week ago Monday, when a transport truck loaded with 42 hogsheads of flue was being transported to Canadian Leaf's Chatham plant. The feed truck in the background came in contact with the transport as the latter was passing, resulting in 37 of the trucks 42 hogsheads rolling off the truck, some breaking up and spilling their contents all over the road and others rolling 150 yards."

- Two black-and-white negative photographs featuring the beam of the 401 bridge, which was damaged, on December 11, 1980.
- R13 S3 Sh6 B3 247a was published in the Rodney Mercury on December 11, 1980, with the caption: "Concrete reinforced beam under the Black's Lane 401 overpass was shattered when struck by a tank on a transport truck. The load hit the beam on the east side of the overpass, causing some slight damage, as well as damaging the other two beams. Six or seven inches of asphalt laid on 401 in the summer was sufficient to raise the load to where it would strike the beam, where identical loads had passed safely under previously."

- R13 S3 Sh6 B5 68a was published in the Rodney Mercury on February 5, 1987, with the caption: “A transport truck tractor was lifted onto the 401’s shoulder from under 76 highway’s overpass Friday afternoon after being struck by another transport truck, the impact causing the tractor to veer off the eastbound lane and through the guard rails. Other than a bump on the head, for which the driver was treated at Four Counties Hosp., no other injuries resulted. However, several thousand dollars damage was done the tractor.”

The Morrice Truck, driven by David Connell, went out of control and blocked the road when it was hit by a Canadian Tire truck driven by Frank Gonneau. A third truck, not visible in the photo, was parked on the shoulder and was sideswiped. No injuries occurred."

- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published March 7, 1973 with caption: "Tanker Jack-Knifes on 401 - The driver of this fuel-oil tanker escaped injury this morning when his vehicle was struck by another transport and forced into a Highway 401 median just west of the Highway 4 overpass. The tanker sustained heavy damage, and part of its 7,100 gallon load of fuel was lost through leakage. The driver was identified as James Paterson, 42, of London. Driver of the other transport, who also escaped injury, was Joseph Oswald, 35, of Windsor. His truck sustained only minor damage."

Tow truck driver Jim Irvin of Art McNey's garage at Talbotville described the accident as the worst he has witnessed in the 14 years he has been servicing the area."
