Donor’s parents, John and Alma Penhale resided in Elgin County and farmed on Ron McNeil Line prior to retiring in the city. They passed away late 2005 within 7 weeks of each other, Dad at the age of 91 and Mom 89. Their 70th Wedding Anniversary had just been celebrated in October, 2005.
Both parents were collectors as a hobby and would travel about the country to antique shows and auction sales. John Campbell Penhale was born September 17, 1914 and passed November 4, 2015. He collected Antique Miniature Salesman Samples. Travelling salesman would carry these items with them to promote a sale. This took place during the late 19th early 20th Century era.
Alma who passed away December 22, 2005 was a collector of Canadian glass as in wine/water glasses and goblets.
