- The Baptist congregation was established in Aylmer in 1816. In 1843 a frame chapel was constructed on the east side of John Street South. In 1871 a brick building was constructed on the same site, as seen in this image. On July 12, 1950 a large fire gutted the church, leaving only the walls and tower remaining. On November 11, 1951 the Aylmer Baptist Church dedicated their new church building. In 1963 the chapel was constructed.
