- Insurance plan of the town of Aylmer, Ontario, dated July 1952. The object consists of six leaves (12 pages) of maps and plans of the town of Aylmer and its buildings, contained in a green cardboard and faux leather binder bound by green plastic rings. Stapled to the title page are two small, identical sheets of paper, reporting on an inspection of the Steen Bowling Alley, dated March 26, 1965. The title page includes a key to symbols in the plan, a copyright belonging to the Underwriters' Survey Bureau of Toronto and Montreal, and a stamp which identifies the plan as copy number 75. The second page is an Index, indicating locations of various Aylmer streets, businesses, and blocks. The third page (pg. 1) displays the entire plan of Aylmer, including the locations of the Bradley and Catfish creeks. The fourth page (pg. 2) displays Rutherford, St. Andrew, St. George, Dufferin, Fourth Ave., Treelawn, York, Clarence, Harvey, Centre, and South West streets. Includes greenhouses and tobacco kilns. The fifth page (pg. 3) displays Rutherford, St. Andrews, St. George, Wellington, Raglan, Centre, Elm, Oak, Pierce, Davis, Myrtle, Cherry, South West, and Talbot West streets. Includes East Elgin Secondary School, auto centers, and auto sellers. The sixth page (pg. 4) includes John, Queen, Victoria, Clarence, Harvey, South West, Elk, Brown, South East, and Pine East streets. Includes McGregor Public School, Our Lady of Sorrows School, bakeries, dairies, farms, and the Aylmer Baptist Church. The seventh page (pg. 5) includes Queen, Elgin, Victoria, Talbot, Dingle, Albert, Pine, Sydenham, Talbot, Warren, Linden, William, and North streets. Includes the fairgrounds, skating rink, St. Paul's United Church, garages, gas stations, the Full Gospel Tabernacle, and farms. The eighth page (pg. 6) includes Centre, John, Jung, Wueen, Pine, Sydenham, and Talbot streets. Includes Lindsay & Son Garage & Repairs, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, the Strand Theatre, Implements & Auto Repairs, a funeral home, the Aylmer Hotel, The Aylmer Express, The Central Hotel, the Fire Hall, an undertaker, The Imperial Bank, a tinsmith, The Royal Bank, a drug store, the Bank of Montreal, Aylmer Diary, the Post Office, and various offices. The ninth page (pg. 7) includes Cherry, Myrtle, Cedar, John North, Chestnut, and Walnut streets. Includes a "swimming tank", Soper Building Supplies, lumber storage, and the Trinity Anglican Church. The tenth (pg. 8) includes Cherry, Myrtle, Cedar, John, Murray, Walnut, Maple, Spruce, Forest, and Beech streets. Includes the Imperial Tobacco Co., Carnation Milk Co., and various storage lockers. The eleventh page (pg. 9) displays only the Imperial Tobacco Co. of Canada factory plan. The twelfth page (pg. 10) includes John, Park, Rutherford, Pierce, South, Talbot, and Creek streets. Includes St. John's Lutheran Church and a gas station.
