- Description
- Extra hair gathered for the hair wreath catalogued 2020-014-0001a. The hair was from Maud Sweet (1898-1969). Hair wreaths were a very common form of memorial art. Women would obtain hair from friends and family members, and using fine tweezers, wrap the hair around very thin wire then twist the wire into floral shapes. When a number of different designs had been completed, the creator would join them together into an arrangement.
