Description
Sepia-toned newspaper clipping of an obituary, announcing the death of Mary Jane Parker (née Rogers). The word "OBITUARY" is at the top of the clipping, surrounded by a border consisting of a wavy line. The text follows, in a serif-type font, and a decorative, short line is at the bottom of the clipping. Full text: "OBITUARY MRS. MARY J. PARKER Mrs. Mary Jane Parker, 1218 Burnaby street, Vancouver, wife of the late C.M. Parker, and a former well known teacher of music in New Westminster, died last night in St. Paul's hospital, Vancouver. She lived in New Westminster for 30 years before going to Vancouver three years ago. Born in Ontario, Mrs. Parker was 81 years of age and is survived by one daughter, Gwladdys Parker, Vancouver, and a brother, James Rogers, in Ontario. Mrs. Parker was a teacher of piano music and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends here. She was a member of Queen's Avenue United church for many years. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of S. Bowell & Son to new Fraser cemetery." Mary Jane Parker née Rogers (May 31, 1861 - April 21, 1929)
