- Description
- Framed banner created by the Women's Institute of Springfield to celebrate the centennial of Canada's confederation. The background of the banner is a blue fabric, and in its center is a stylized maple leaf, decorated with a geometric pattern of triangles. The text of the banner is made of yellow felt, and reads "SPRINGFIELD W.I. 1904 1967 1867 1967 CANADA CENTENNIAL." The banner is displayed in a wooden frame and overlaid with glass. The wood of the frame is stained a light red-brown. The contents of the frame are held in place by a thin piece of wood. At the center of the back of the frame, near the top, is a metal loop, to which a light brown rope is tied.
