- Black and white photograph showing Alexander Betterley, son of George and Annie Betterley of Belmont. Alexander was a school teacher at the time of his enlistment in January 1916. He served first in the 142nd infantry and later joined the Royal Air Force and received training. During the Second World War, he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and served on instructional duties in Canada. Included in the Kingsmill-Mapleton Women's Institute History Vol. 1.
