- Scope and Content
- Black and white photograph used in St. Thomas Times-Journal article published August 12, 1964 with caption: "Gift to Museum - This antique desk, believed to be almost two centuries old and made of burled walnut is a very unusual and beautiful piece of furniture. The top of the desk is used primarily for books but now holds a set of dishes for exhibition purposes. Sitting on the desk is a very old inkwell made of glass with an overlay of silver. Its lace-like design is quite beautiful. John MacColl of London and his daughter Mrs. Helen Pringle, donated the desk, the dishes and the inkwell to the Elgin County Pioneer Museum. Both Mr. MacColl and Mrs. Pringle have been generous contributors to the Museum."
