- "Aids Museum - Dr. Wilfrid Jury, of the University of Western Ontario and the area's leading authority on prehistoric lore, gave advice on displays to members of the Elgin Pioneer Museum committee on Thursday afternoon. Here Dr. Jury explains the origin of an iron axe head to Mrs. Roy McNeil, Dutton, left, and Mrs. Alex Lyle, Middlemarch. See Story Page 1, Second Section." (10a)
- "Colonel Talbot's Waistcoat - An unusual gift to the Elgin Pioneer Museum is a man's colorful waistcoat believed to have been worn by Colonel Thomas Talbot, celebrated founder of the Talbot Settlement. Curator Murray Wilson examines the striking vest of a style that was once the height of men's fashions. The waistcoat was included among a collection of valuable historic documents in the estates of the late Judge Charles O. Ermatinger and his granddaughter, the late Mrs. M. K. Moorhead, that have been presented to the Museum." (10b)
